I promise I AM excited about this baby...

...even though I haven't really blogged too much about him...sorry Buddy...

Here are 5 things that I haven't told you yet about the arrival of #2:

1. We officially have 69 days until Buddy is born. I can say that with full confidence because we are having a scheduled C-Section and I've already scheduled it. Deciding between a repeat C-Section and a  VBAC was one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make but after lots of prayer, tears, medical consultations, and a very special blessing from my sweet husband, I felt that the repeat C was the right choice for me. Plus, I really hate surprises and this takes all of the guess work out of the equation.

2. A short list of names has been debated and I know some people like to keep their names under wraps but Terry and I don't care. I think the concept of "stealing" someone else's name is ridiculous unless it involves identity theft and social security numbers. That being said, we like: Anderson (Anders for short), Deacon, and Fletcher. Beckett, Hudson, Fisher, and Griffin are also on the list.

3. I FINALLY started "nesting" last week. My energy levels have been high and I've been organizing, cleaning, and re-arranging to make room for Buddy Boy. It has been really fun to sort through our newborn and 0-3 clothes and remember Shrimp wearing the same outfits. As many of you know, my amazing Sister gave me all of her boy clothes when I was expecting the Shrimp. The really cool part about this is that her two oldest boys are 21 months apart - almost the exact same age gap as Shrimp and Buddy. That means that we have several matching outfits that her boys used to wear that have been passed on to us. I'm pretty excited to already have matching clothes for my boys without having to go buy them. And BONUS - my Sisters have incredible taste.

4. My last pregnancy with Shrimp left me feeling invincible. I was hardly sick, felt great, regularly exercised, rarely felt tired, didn't swell, kept my weight under control, and got to sleep in everyday. Obviously things were going to be different with this one but I didn't realize how much. It's like a super hero realizing they are a puny human (and yes, I did just compare myself to a superhero - but that's how I felt while pregnant with Shrimp! I was invincible!). This time around? I get winded climbing the stairs, have spent the better part of my pregnancy exhausted (we watch a lot of Sesame Street around here now), and I have gained about 8 more pounds at this point than I had with my last.  I still exercise regularly but pushing a jogging stroller with a 25 pound toddler quickly drains me.

5. Other than diapers, wipes, and newborn essentials (those tiny little alcohol wipes - seriously fell in love with those last time around) there are exactly THREE things that I would like to buy for this guy:

- A set of Aden and Anais swaddle blankets. We have a TON of quilts and flannel swaddles but since my guy is coming mid-August I thought it would be nice to get some lightweight blankets and I have heard amazing things about them. Plus I am obsessed with how cute they are:

- I'd also like to get an infant insert for our ERGO carrier so I can carry little Buddy around in comfort. We had a Baby Bjorn for Shrimp when he was tiny but we gave that away and bought an ERGO about a year ago. I love that carrier.
- And finally I need a double stroller. I have researched and stressed about this decision for the past 5 months and after heading over to Babies R Us to check out this beauty - I was completely sold. Why? The sunshades are amaaaazing, the seats fold completely flat, and it is compact and maneuvers like a dream.

So that's what's going on at our house. We are in baby mode and can't wait to meet our Buddy in a little over 2 months!

Love the Aiden and Anais blankets... a MUST for a summer baby!! We had the newborn Ergo insert, but I wasn't a big fan. I much preferred using my Moby when he was itty bitty and we switched to the Ergo once he was bigger. Its just super hot in the summer, that thing is thick, and you also have the carrier around them. I know some people love them though!! Is that the City Select?? I have heard amazing things about that stroller!! So excited to see how cute baby #2 is. Your guys have a great list of names!

I vote yes on the Aiden & Anais blankets. They ARE amazing. However, I did see a tutorial to make your own: just gauze fabric, which you can find at most fabric stores!

I love the name Beckett and Anderson but Jimmy doesn't :( Griffin is cool too. I loved my aiden and anais blankets. Perfect for summer babies. I agree with Jenni on the Moby thing. I loved carrying Liam in the Moby and switching him to the Ergo when he was older. Can't wait to see pics of little Buddy and hear what you name him. Miss you guys!

Amanda, it looks like Marissa is ignoring your name suggestions!
