BYU Alumni 5k

I did it. One of my goals this year was to run a 5k and I did. Considering I haven't really run since High School this was a major accomplishment for me. A major thanks to my dear Husband, who cleaned the kitchen in the evening while I went for runs and who was there at the finish line to take pictures and cheer me on. My goal was to finish in under 30 minutes and my time ended up being 29:33 and I can't complain about that - I ended up under my target even with the extra hills that I was not expecting.

Another huge thanks to my running buddy and next-door neighbor Victoria, who ran it with me even though she is not a BYU Alumni. She even clocked the fastest time in her age group and got a blue ribbon and a reusable shopping bag that says "BYU 5k Winner". While we were waiting for the race to start she said to me "I'm banking on the fact that the other girls in my age group have had more babies than me so my body is in better shape". She was right on both counts.

This is the photo that Terry took as we crossed the finish line. I find it incredibly hilarious.

Victoria with her spoils and Daniel. I hope he doesn't see this photo, I doubt he'd be happy with me for posting this on the interweb.

GO COUGARS!

That has to be the best 'end of the race' photo I have ever seen. Not that I have seen a lot of them. But this one is awesome.

Way to go! and that finishing photo is hilarious. Want to run a marathon with me sometime in the next few years? :)
