You might not know this about me but I like to plan things. I might not always follow said plan but I at least like to sit down with a piece of paper and a pen and write out a list of tasks to accomplish. I don't know why I like doing it, I just do. I think it helps me to break down a problem into easy to manage tasks so I won't get stressed or overwhelmed.
Huh.
I've never thought about that before. I guess that's why!
Well having a baby in 41 days is definitely something to stress out about (I think). I don't have the luxury of endless quiet hours to prepare like I did with The Shrimp. I've got to make these last few days count because time is just racing by. 6 weeks. That's all I have. And in those 6 weeks I need to do the following:
- Stock my pantry and freezer.
- Wash baby bedding and clothes
- Re-arrange our bedroom to fit our rocking chair and changing table
- Organize the guest room for my Mom
- Buy all the newborn and new-mommy toiletries
- Finish the valances in our kitchen and one or two other small projects
All while growing a baby and spending time with my toddler.
So to help me out I came up with this little cheat sheet for the husband. Just to be clear - he is not a hopeless cause in the kitchen, I just want to make things as easy as possible for him if there are some nights that I don't feel like cooking after my Mom leaves. I don't mean to insult his intelligence, I swear.
Anyway I thought I'd post it if anyone else was interested in using it.
And now I'm off to work on my Relief Society lesson for Sunday; a great article on Forgiveness.

Before I had baby K, I was doing all of your list 3 months before baby came because it was right around Christmas. I had to have everything stocked in the pantry because I was super stressed about it being the holidays. SO I decided to can like 5000 lbs (Not really) of food. Good luck with your list. I know it always feels good to have it all done!
I am stealing this chart. Unlike Terry, Brad IS completely helpless in the kitchen.
