Since we've lived in Texas for almost 3 years now we decided that it was time to take part in a Fiesta event. We headed down to the King Williams neighborhood on Saturday for a little food, shopping, fun, and sight seeing. We had heard that King William is known for it's beautifully restored mansions but we were blown away and a little house envy on more than one occasion...
Another big draw for us was that some of our favorite food trucks were planning on selling lunch. We had brisket fried rice and mexican street tacos with a cupcake for dessert. We were really tempted to try the duck fat french fries but we ran out of tickets - and my waistband thanked me for it in the end.
Shrimp was a big fan of the rice and an even bigger fan of the cupcake. And for those of you (most of you) who weren't in our Church's Sacrament Meeting yesterday... We bought the cupcake to split and I ended up eating Terry's half. On the way home I mentioned how good it was and Terry said "I wouldn't know, you ate my piece". I had no idea!! We spoke in church yesterday and he used that story to illustrate time management and priorities so now the whole ward knows that I'm a selfish, fat, pregnant, heifer. So now I give you Terry's half of the cupcake, before I popped it in my chubby fat mouth:
This boy asks for cupcakes everyday. Luckily, I made a batch of them last night to apologize to Terry.
Like my husband's beard? He grows one every time Shrimp and I go out of town...
The streets were very crowded and we didn't buy anything but it was fun to walk around and see everything.
And if I'm being honest I have no idea what Fiesta commemorates, but I know it's a big party and that everyone has these fun wreaths on their doors. They even sell them in craft stores:
We had a blast. Thanks Fiesta!

I'm not sure on this, but I think Fiesta is a week-long celebration of when Texas won its independence from Mexico.
