Yesterday I made Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Bars from Two Peas and their Pod. They were awesome even though I didn't have sea salt in the house. Guess what? Kosher salt works too! Another confession: you're supposed to spread and smooth the top cookie layer and I just crumbled it into little pieces on top. My laziness made them more attractive - one look and HELLO cookie. HELLO caramel. I must have you right now. And have them I did.
For the caramel layer you are supposed to melt together caramels and heavy whipping cream. Terry licked the bowl clean and then pronounced that "heavy cream and caramel taste amaaaazing together".
