I looked back for 2 seconds to check on Parker and when I turned around...I hit a car. Luckily I was able to slam on the brakes long enough to slow us down from 45 to 15 mph but we still hit that car pretty dang hard. Parker instantly started crying. I started crying. It was ugly. Luckily we have USAA insurance and so did the other driver who, thanks to the power of facebook, is this guy:
I smashed in his bumper pretty good and we walked away with a dented license plate. I feel so blessed right now - it could have been so much worse than it turned out to be. I don't even want to think about what could have happened. We are all perfectly fine, but in the scramble to call the insurance company and get the claim filed I completely forgot about my sister's birthday today. Oops. Happy birthday Jenn - for your birthday I was going to get you the bumper off of a frat boy's mom's car but I didn't hit it hard enough to take it clean off. Maybe next year?

I'm glad that you and Parker are ok! And if the other driver really looks like this guy... that is freaking rad!
so you're sticking with the "I was checking on Parker" story. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone that you really smashed into this man in a fit of rage because he stole your favorite sweatshirt and glasses...
jk, car accidents are scary! I'm so glad you guys weren't hurt!
